Tekken 7 is a game with around 35+ characters. That is quite a wide range to choose from, and it can get quite confusing, especially if you want to pick someone you can win competitive fights with. This is why we have created a Tekken 7 tier list for your convenience.

This list is curated for everyone, be it new players looking for a way in or existing players trying to find new heroes.
About Tekken 7
Everyone has heard of the Tekken franchise. It has become one of the most famous 3D action-fighting games today. Tekken 7 is the 7th game in the series and comes with ten new characters.

You can choose any character you want and practice with them before you begin fighting. You can also personalize the costumes and player gear. Each player comes with their unique set of skills, fighting styles, and strengths and weaknesses.
According to the reviews by pro players and different voting polls, these characters can be put into different tiers according to their strengths and likelihood of winning a game.
Tekken 7 Tier list
The game itself doesn’t come with an official tier list of character rankings. So we have put together this list from gamer reviews, polls, and thousands of matches conducted online.
Although, one should know that this tier list is not the only thing that matters. What’s proven to be more important is the players’ skills themselves. Essentially, you can pick whichever character you want and, if you win or not, it will depend on your ability to best use the character’s traits.
While different sources will provide different lists, there are mainly 5-7 tiers named as follows:
- Tier SS
- Tier S
- Tier A
- Tier B
- Tier C
- Tier D
Tier SS consists of the best of heroes, and as we go down, the strength decreases, with Tier F having heroes with weak reflexes.
Let’s take a detailed look at each tier:
Tier SS
All characters in this tier are the top and best on the list. They have great combos and moves.
- Akuma

Also known as “Master of the Fist,” Akuma’s fighting style is an unknown type of Ansatsuken. He practices Satsui no Hado, which is quite lethal. Unfortunately, his character has not been provided with a raging drive.
- Steve

Steve Fox’s fighting style is boxing. He primarily uses many bobs, punches, and sways, barely opting for kicks. He has incredible combos and low attacks. He has excellent dodging abilities, making him a robust offense character.
- Devil Jin

Jin Kazama’s devil form certainly puts him at the top of the list. He uses Mishima-style gameplay, his famous move being Flash Punch Combo. In Tekken 7, he uses moves originating from Angel.
Tier S
These are the best characters after the ones in the SS tier.
- Julia

Also known as the “Wandering Fighter, she utilizes a mixture of Chinese martial arts like Xin Yi Liu He Quan and Baji Quan. She also has some wrestling moves like the Death Valley Driver.
- Paul

He is also called the Blazing Brawler. He uses modified martial arts based on Judo as his fighting style. He can perform power punches that cause immense damage like the Hammer Punch and Burning Fist. His offense is better than his defense.
- Leroy

His fighting style is Wing Chun, which is distinguishable by its use of defense stances and evasion tactics to find opportunities to strike the opponent in their weak spots. Leroy has a cane which a player can use once per match. The cane works as a weapon to beat opponents and launch attacks and doesn’t require rage to be used.
Tier A
This tier includes some very good fighters.
- Ganryu

Ganryu’s fighting style is Sumo Wrestling. Although his character started off as slow, since Tekken 5, it has advanced. He might not be the fastest, but he’s flexible and graceful, which lets him throw some deceptive low attacks. He is best as a mid-poking fighter.
- Raven

He’s also referred to as the Dark Talon of Death and uses Ninjutsu as his fighting style. His character is a bit hard to get used to, but players can use his defensive abilities to their advantage after some practice.
- Nina

She is best known among fans for her speed and chain throws. Her chain throws, however, take some time and practice to perform. She has elaborate and lethal combos. Her juggle combos do not cause much damage.
Tier B
This tier contains great fighters.
- King

King’s fighting styles involve Lucha Libre and Pro wrestling. He has a great defense approach compared to his defensive one. Players should be careful while playing him as he can be unsafe and tricky. He has good punishes and can also perform chain grabs.
- Dragunov

The White Angel of Death fights using Commando Sambo, a modified form of Sambo. He can perform punches, kicks, and even fracture bones.
- Negan

He has a barbed-wire baseball bat called Lucille. He can smack the opponent using Lucille.
Tier C
This tier consists of average fighters.
- Josie

She utilizes Eskrima kickboxing, a weaponized version of kickboxing using knives, bars, batons, and other weapons. She also uses elbow and knee techniques that resemble those of Muay Thai. She is easy to use and simple, but that makes her ceiling low in matches.
- Noctis

Best used as a defensive character; he has a wide fighting range. He can use swords, daggers, and spears to harm the opponent, his signature weapon being the Engine Blade.
- Kazuya

He uses Mishima style fighting karate, similar to Shotokan karate. One to needs to master good timing to utilize him to his best abilities. Using him would require a high-risk tactic by the gamer.
Tier D
This list has some below-average fighters.
- Lili

She is easy to use for beginners of the game. She has decent attack ranges and has the best sidestep.
- Gigas

He doesn’t have many threatening moves and doesn’t do well under pressure, so winning with him might be a difficult task. His fighting style can be labeled as a “destructive impulse.” He can air grab opponents, being one of the very few in the game who can do so.
- Eliza

She has vampire abilities, in which she can drain her opponent’s life bar by sucking blood. She can also send fireballs. A skilled player is needed to win a fight with her, although her abilities aren’t as powerful as other characters.
Tier E/F
This tier consists of terrible fighters, at least for competitive matches. To name a few:
- Eddy
- Lucky Chloe
- Miharu
- Prototype Jack
